SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY to speak on behalf of puppy mill dogs, and for humane pet shop legislation! The first of two hearings has been scheduled for the State Legislative Task Force on the origins of cats and dogs sold in pet shops.
1ST PET SHOP TASK FORCE HEARING :
WHEN: October 16th, 6PM
WHERE: 501 Kings Hwy Fairfield, 2nd floor meeting room.
WHO should attend and testify: ANYONE who believes pet shops can and should adopt a humane business model by selling only animals from rescues and pounds - no commercially-bred dogs. It would be especially helpful to hear from:
* pet supply stores who have built a business without selling puppies
* veterinarians who have seen the ill effects of puppy mills in the puppies they treat
* customers who have bought sick animals from pet stores and experienced financial and emotional hardship
* reputable breeders who can explain why they would never supply their dogs to a pet store
