With feedback, No Animal Left Unfed, Inc will start to introduce our feline members from our cat colonies. This early AM, please find Calico from Hartford. Calico is a female whom I have been feeding for the last 2 years. I was introduced to Calico by her mother. Mom was rescued and placed with the CT Humane Society in 2011. Although, I know and play with Calico daily; she remains skittish and shy. She will only allow me to touch her tail. However, she meets me daily by running down the incline and rolling on the ground, flipping her tail. She is a wonderful pubescent feline

So, if you can, please help me continue to nourish Calico with a donation. $1, $3 and $5 donations can help to buy many Stop n Shop soft cans and dry food for sustenance:

Everyday, I feed two separate cat colonies in Bloomfield and Hartford. Two weeks ago, I rescued two small kittens from the brush on Love Lane in Hartford. They were 5 weeks old males. Thankfully, Our Companions sponsored their medical evaluation with follow up. One kitty had several tumors and had to be humanely euthanized; the other was treated and released to my care. I named that kitty, Pirate. He was named Pirate b/c he had one eye. He was born without the other

For the next 10 days, Pirate grew strong and healthy. He played wonderfully and developed quickly. This past Monday, I came home from work to find that Pirate had passed away. He made his way to my bed and rested. I don't know what or why but I am very sad. He had so much energy and life in his little body. He will be missed

RIP, Pirate  :(

Puppy Mill Task Force Hearing

10/14/2013

SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY to speak on behalf of puppy mill dogs, and for humane pet shop legislation! The first of two hearings has been scheduled for the State Legislative Task Force on the origins of cats and dogs sold in pet shops.

1ST PET SHOP TASK FORCE HEARING :
WHEN: October 16th, 6PM
WHERE: 501 Kings Hwy Fairfield, 2nd floor meeting room.

WHO should attend and testify: ANYONE who believes pet shops can and should adopt a humane business model by selling only animals from rescues and pounds - no commercially-bred dogs. It would be especially helpful to hear from:

* pet supply stores who have built a business without selling puppies
* veterinarians who have seen the ill effects of puppy mills in the puppies they treat
* customers who have bought sick animals from pet stores and experienced financial and emotional hardship
* reputable breeders who can explain why they would never supply their dogs to a pet store

For additional talking points and information on how you can help promote humane pet shop legislation please visit: http://humanepetshops.wordpress.com/what-you-can-do/

It's The Pits Community Awareness and Resources, known for their tireless Bully Breed advocacy throughout Connecticut, has been awarded a grant through Best Friends Lifesaving Grants, in partnership with PetSmart Charities®. 100 Pit Bulls (not mixes) will be eligible for the program. Surgeries will be performed by HOPE Spay/Neuter Clinic.

To qualify for the low cost spay/neuter, participants must be able to show proof of Waterbury residency and submit a picture of their dog. There are no income restrictions.

For more information about the program which will begin September 1, 2013 or to enroll, please email Stephanie Rice at stephanie@itsthepits.org or call (619) 985-4026.

I needed the time to adjust; however, I wanted to share this amazing act of kindness. I won't reveal their name but a lovely and wonderful person kindly purchased storage space for No Animal Left Unfed, Inc. Very much, I want to write, Thank You, to S.D for purchasing space for food. I am so grateful and humbled by this wondrous act of generosity

I am still in shock but over the moon. So, on behalf of my families and their pets, Thank You for this consideration. We will be able to feed so many more pets with abandoned and strayed cats

No Animal Left Unfed, Inc is very happy to introduce Casey, a 7yr old DSH male. We were able to sponsor Casey for his neuter and rabies vaccine. Casey is looking for his furever home. Per foster mom, Casey would prefer to be with a single adult who can really love him. For many years, Casey lived with someone but they fell on hard times and no longer take care of him

To inquire about Casey, please contact his foster mom, Nancyellen @ 203-213-3712 or email nebutante@aol.com
